Ours is a special order

Special order

Sometimes when we seem to have been waiting for so long we tend to wonder why ours is taking so long. Especially when those that come after us get attended to first. we may even wonder what our offence is.

A certain gentleman walked into a hotel and after perusing through the menu ordered for some food. After about 20 mins another group of gentlemen walked in and ordered for theirs. To his dismay, the first gentleman saw them get served first πŸ˜ƒ.

He watched as they began to eat and laugh heartily. He even overheard one of them brag about how he knew everyone at that hotel and how things moved fast for him there. He felt he was being mocked. He contemplated leaving but he had waited soooooo long.

Unable to take it anymore, he called the waiter and spoke rather verbosely of how unfair things were. The waiter calmly told him, yours is a special order Sir, being prepared by the chief chef himself. Their orders were prepared hurriedly by interns because the top chefs are busy with yours. That’s why they came first. Please have some juice as you wait.

Unknown to him the owner of the hotel (who happened to be an old long lost friend of his) had seen him coming and wanted to surprise him and had made changes to his simple meal to make it a five star meal. He calmed down and waited. Shortly after, his meal was served by 6 waiters and he was waited on hand and foot and being made very comfortable. The party at the other table were shocked. They couldn’t stop staring. Suddenly they were the ones murmuring, asking why they didn’t get that kind of service and meal.

Special order

So it is with this life. Some people are ahead of you and eating now, laughing at you about how they know people and how they’re blessed and rich and how they’re enjoying life because of it. You have been waiting long wondering why its taking so long to get your breakthrough, enduring mockery and humiliation. Maybe you have contemplated suicide, gone through depression or suffered severe mental anxiety. Do not worry. The owner of the world has seen you. And doesn’t want to give you simple meals like those laughing at you. And you’re waiting long because yours is a special order and special meal. Yours takes time. And only chief chefs make it. Take heart today. Wait for your meal and relax. When it comes. That laughing party will be silenced for good. Calm down. Your appointed time is here.

You know how we do here, I find cool stuff and bring them here. This is another WhatsApp gem someone copied and pasted on WhatsApp but it speaks to me on so many levels and I know it will to you too.

So many of us may have waited on God for one thing or another and seen those who came after us get that exact thing and even more. It’s not unusual to see those who aren’t as brilliant, as committed, as faithful, as helpful etc as you get treated first even though they met you on that waiting line.

Do not be jealous of their fast food, salads and easy to prepare meals.

Special order

Remember that these take little time to prepare and may still leave the eater hungry, unsatisfied and craving real food.

This post is saying do not worry, wait patiently for that special order God is preparing for you. God is faithful. He is a God of compensation and will not forget the time spent waiting on him. It may seem like you are been ignored but God has you covered.

Notice how the man in this story calmed down once he knew what was cooking πŸ˜€. The thing is if he had trusted the Chef he needn’t have worried. We as Christians should trust the process. We have the Word and the Holy Spirit. God himself says to trust him he has told us that his words will not return to him void. He has told us he has our names tattooed on his hands. He has shown many of us exactly what is cooking or told us that something is cooking. See! God wants to tell us stuff, and if you start getting bothered all you have to is ask him.

Some of us know a bit of where he is taking us to so why are we worried? I know it’s hard but the time remaining for us to wait is minus the time we have spent waiting. Every day is a day less from the time the promise of God will manifest . That means the time is approaching, everyday that passes bring us closer to our destiny.

What God has in store for us is taking time because he is taking extra care and time. Do not fret, be patient, it’s gonna be awesome

Remember how we wait matters. If you have missed any of the Waiting on God series check them out here.

Exactly. We all have our different orders but I am assured that God Is preparing for us amazingly exceedingly, much more than we are expecting or could ever imagine. Thanks dear.

Thanks sis for this. The situation of maize and mango (I really love this fruit) readily comes to mind. Maize is ready to be harvested few months after planting, where as mango takes years to attain maturity and start bearing fruits. Maize dries up and dies after producing some cobs but mango remains for years producing juicy and delicious fruits in its season. The maize just doesn’t have enough stamina or resources to continue. This applies in real life. There’s no rush. It might seem like things are not going as fast as we expect considering how much efforts we’re putting in. Let’s not get tired but continue steadfastly in faith. We will surely reap and the fruits will remain year in year out.

My fellow mango lover πŸ‘¦ it’s alright lol. I love this illustration and I have already told you so.
🌽 needs to be replanted every season but the mango tree produces fruits effortlessly every season. You don’t have to water or weed or anything and you get to enjoy it if you can be patient for it to be ready.
Kai! Mangoes. Don’t let me remember mangoes.
Amen and Amen. I feel like your last sentence is everything. We have to decide if we want to have a plate or to have a fruitful, belly full lifetime experience.
      Thanks love.
