May : Midnight Hospital Emergency

Hi Guys, so as usual let me gist you about how May was for me and stuff that happened but before I gist you about the Hospital emergency, let’s talk about……..

Juggling……….Two Court appearances.

For the first time ever , I had two personal Court appearances in one day.

It was not a funny something as the two judges always sat at 9am or thereabouts meaning that I couldn’t just waltz in between the two. Luckily they were in the same premises (if they weren’t, na gobe be that) but I still had to do some going up and down, with my heart beating real fast hoping the two cases don’t get called at the same time. That would mean no lawyer was present in one and could have bad consequences.

Thankfully I was able to beg the senior lawyers in one to allow me call my case out of turn (we were scheduled to be last) and I ran out of there as soon as I was through. Then I went to the second Court which seemed to take ages and I started wondering why I bothered to rush the first one.

Loving……..celebrity engagements.

May was the engagement month that kept on giving lol . It seems like ages but May was the month BankyW and Adesua Etomi got engaged. If you read this post then you already know how excited I was.

OAP Ayo of 1plustheone.com also got engaged to Mairo Ese. I am just so excited. This is much more personal to me than Banky’s and Adesua’s. I am a big fan of Ayo and her blog. Her blog was the first Christian blog I fell in love with and her series on waiting and loving it is all shades of awesome.

Missing……. a Sunday Church Service.

I was ill one Sunday and missed Church and teaching Sunday School. It just showed me that all the time I achieved my aim of going to Church was all God. Good health should never be taken for granted. The night before, or even this year, I could have sworn I would never miss Church. As in in the rain oh, even when my mouth was swollen, I still managed to somehow teach.

(Update-As at the time of writing this I missed another class even though I was in Church. I had cold and my voice was croaky lol. I didn’t want to disgrace my self and begged someone else to teach while I took attendance ( Hahaha ).

Trying not to panic during an emergency

Hospital premises

Ehehn!

I am sure you want to hear about the emergency lol …….So early in May, that was how my Sister woke me up and complained of intense stomach pain. I looked at it and called everyone else in our house. We all turned doctors /investigators/ prayer warrior oh, “What did you eat?, Who brought it?”, it’s the mangoes, no it’s the milk, It’s ulcer, no it’s food poisoning lol. All this amidst prayers.  I(we) thought it was minor oh, until around 1am when she started complaining that the pain was like knives in her stomach then we packed ourselves to the Hospital.

At first, We went to the Hospital in our estate but they locked the door from inside. Imagine! All the knocking and car horn did not wake them. It was just as well because they were obviously inept.

We sha packed ourselves to a private hospital I only used because I had health insurance from work and only had to pay 10% of their fees. We literally met no-one on the road to the Hospital, not even the police and met one odd guy at the Hospital junction.

This Hospital was noted to be expensive but one thing I was sure of was their preparedness plus by that point, it wasn’t a question of money anymore, it was a matter of urgent medical care and true to my expectations they attended to her and I was impressed with how prepared they were for emergencies. However,  not before subtly nudging us to collect card. They then attended to her while they stylishly gave us the deposit to pay for admission, tests, drugs etc. I didn’t judge them for minding money but I wondered what would have happened if we couldn’t pay that night.

Grateful

In a matter of minutes the pain decreased. I don’t know what they gave her but it was like cold water poured on all of us. Chai!  Now I know why Doctors get paid plenty money. Lol. The doctors hinged it majorly on ulcer plus food poisoning/ infection. She was admitted and discharged the following day.

I cannot remember us rushing anyone to hospital before in my house. Good health is a blessing we take for granted indeed. I was just grateful it didn’t turn fatal. I got scared at a point but of course I calmed down and I remembered I had a blog hence the pics. ?

There are some other gists but nothing we can’t talk about later.

Glad your sister is doing well. Thank God for having the means to get the medical attention needed. On my Sister Ayo, I didn’t know it was featured on BN. I rushed over to read the rest. Look how the door opened up for her literally!!!! God answers prayers , our heavenly Father knows how to give good gifts, thank you Jesus!! Hallelujah, Praise God.

Thanks Tunji. Funny enough I haven’t heard her in OAP action though I have watched one or so of her vlogs on her blog. I would try and remedy that soon.

Awwww thank God your sister got healed. Trust our hospitals and the quest for instant payment. You can’t blame them sha. Some people run away without paying their bills. Lol
In other news, I finally got to watch the movie, Tight (In God’s Name). And that was because of the review you did. It was a really good one. Thank you! More movie reviews. please. I’m the worst when to comes to picking a good movie to watch. So when I see your reviews I’ll know what to watch instead of searching endlessly and ending up with a hopeless movie, Lol

      Thanks Precious of life.
I don’t blame them either. It was just a bit jarring but I totally understood their predicament. God should just help us so we don’t have emergencies on those days we are broke. Amen

Awww. This totally warms my heart. Funny enough after that batch I haven’t really had time for Iroko TV. The downloads disappear after thirty days and I don’t want to waste my data if I am too busy.
Since then I have been watching more of TV series. You really don’t need to concentrate fully for those ?.
I will put you(and me) in mind though and kick start it as soon as I can. I have missed them too. Thank you so much Sis. I appreciate the feedback. And yeah, I love reviews too. I dislike sitting through movies without a background or review.
