Thoughts I had while watching a football match

Thoughts I had during a football match

So just for fun here are some thoughts I had while watching a football match (Tuesday night’s Manchester City vs AC Monaco).

Actually, let me confess, I didn’t start watching from the beginning. You needed to see my face when I realized just how many more minutes remained before I could put off the generator ?. Normally I sleep late but that night, sleep was just calling my name.

My dad was watching the football match in his sitting room and my sister had stylishly dodged the generator “offing ” duty by going to sleep so I was forced to wait for the football match to finish, and just to be sure of the exact moment they finished, I switched from the telenovela channel I was watching to the match my dad was watching.  And next thing I knew, I was sort of watching it.

So in no particular order, here are the kind of thoughts that crossed my mind while I watched a football match.

1) When is it going to end/How far gone in minutes are they?

2)Who are those playing?

I was not familiar with the team abbreviations usually shown on screen. Last night I saw “MNC” and “MON” and I wondered what teams those were supposed to be (don’t worry I soon found out).

3)Which team is even which colour sef?

Thoughts I had while watching Football match

Some people know team colours in their dreams. I am not one of those people.

4) Heya! Or  I feel sorry for that guy.

This happens when a player scores a goal and the Coach or players of the opposing team put their hands on their head and look glum.

5) Goal!

One of my favorite moments when watching a football match is the reaction of the crowd, the goal scorer and his team members.

Thoughts while watching football match? I am all for solidarity.

6) Why on earth do they switch players so close to the end of the football match?

7) Oh! He’s cute.

“He” most likely being any cute player I sight .?

8) I hope there’s no extra time oh.

9) Oooooh! There’s extra time.

(Pls oh! why do they need extra time in a football match when there’s a winner already?)

10) Why do people (my dad) watch it to the end when the winner is clear already?

For instance, at a point the score was 5:3, I would have thought we could all go to sleep safely at that point. I kid. I kid.

11) And Finally! Ope oh !Dem Don finish or Thank God it’s over ?

Thoughts while watching a football match

They are certainly celebrating

Thought during football match sister bisi

They look dejected right?

Now, this is just light hearted humour oh. Before some people ( a.k.a guys) bite off my head, all this thoughts are in the context of feeling very sleepy, and impatiently waiting for the football match to finish.

I wasn’t watching the football match seriously. I am sure you know that Women can be avid football fans and commentators.

The day I watch a football match in the afternoon, I will be sure to let you know my thoughts. Serious thoughts. Haha.

Hahahahaha. . . This post is hilarious. I watch football and I enjoy watching it. There is so much life lessons embedded in that game.

    – scoring goals
    – falling and rising up like nothing happened
    – celebrating success
    – etc

I can write an article about it. Maybe I should? Lol.

Interesting to note that you can put off a generator. Strong woman. A-ha!

      Thanks Amaka dear.
That’s true. So many life goals. And it would take someone like you who watched intently to grasp those lessons.
Pls write the post oh. I an sure it would be awesome.
Loool. Even in the University I had a small generator. You somehow learn to do things in my house especially since my brother wasn’t always around. My sister is an expert in changing oil and plugs though. I never reach that level. ?

Amaka has really taken the words I intend to write off my mind.

Football is interesting a lot, I am not fanatical about the whole thing either. I support teams randomly in no particular, I actually support teams that play better even if they don’t win at the end of the day.

There are so many lessons, like
    * Knowing when to change players
    * Reading the game accurately to know which player to introduce or change at any given point in time
    * Discipline and concentration
    * The fighting spirit of it is not over until the whistle is blown
And the little dramas that ensue in between kicking the ball around, Lol.

I bow for your sister oooo??. An expert in changing in oil and plugs, that is impressive! Afterall I often hear that what a man can do, a woman can do better, shebi? (tongue in cheek)

Oga lemme come and be going

I agree that football can be interesting.
Yeah! So many lessons. The ones you stated are good ones.
I especially like that last point. No matter how badly a match is going, they don’t give up or say they aren’t playing again even if it’s 10-0. They see it to the end.
We could learn perseverance from that.
      Life lessons indeed.
Looool. I will show her your comment.
Yes oh. We can do better. Up Women!
      Thanks Immanuel.
